K-SURE CONTRIBUTES TO JOB CREATION THRU. ITS U$1B OF FINANCING FOR INDIAN TELECOMMUNICATIONS

- Help Korean SMEs in the telecommunication business expand their overseas markets, increasing their global market share


■ Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-sure,www.ksure.or.kr) announced on June 22 (local time) that it signed a financing contract for an Indian wireless communications network project.


■ Through the signing, K-SURE provides USD 1 billion of export credit support for expansion of the country’s wireless communication network. This project is an exemplary case of promoting export of both big and small companies of Korea, creating a strong synergy in their overseas business and job creation.

○ Along with Samsung Electronics, more than 30 small and mid sized Korean companies participate in the project with their parts and components supplied to the project.


■ This project, sponsored by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd., a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd., the largest private company in India, is expected to level up the wireless service quality of the country by beefing up the communications network in India.


■ Samsung Electronics could win this project thanks to its previous business for the initial set-up of Indian LTE network, to which K-SURE provided USD750 million of support in June, 2015.


■ Mr. Yanghyun Lim, Executive Director of K-SURE stated that “India is the second largest telecommunications market in the world following China, and fast emerging as a promising LTE service market with increasing demand on mobile data communications. With increasing subscription of mobile communications service by Indian users, we expect there will be many opportunities to Korean companies,
