- To donate winter goods purchased through KOSAFE campaign and kimchi to social welfare facilities.
- To participate in ‘Thumbs up Challenge’ to cheer up consumers, businesses and the people who are suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

■ On November 12, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE, www.ksure.or.kr) delivered kimchi and winter goods to ‘Theresa’s House’ and ‘Raphayel’s House’.

○ Theresa’s House (Enpyeong-gu, Seoul), a child care facility for girls, and Raphael’s House (Jongno-gu, Seoul), a child care facility for children with disabilities, are social welfare facilities that K-SURE has been supporting regularly since 2007.

■ This time of donation adds a special meaning because the 320kg of kimchi donated was made with the residents of Gaekhyeon 2-ri, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, a sister village of K-SURE.

○ K-SURE’s kimchi donation activity started back in 2015, and this activity is contributing to the increase of farm household income, as it uses cabbage and radish grown in the farmhouse in Gaekhyeon 2-ri as ingredients for kimchi.

■ This year, K-SURE also donated winter goods purchased through Korea Sale Festa (“KOSAFE”) High-Five .

○ KOSAFE High-Five is a social contribution campaign with citizen participation that links the promotion of domestic economy and donation activities. In the campaign, when the participants purchase ‘KOSAFE Special Goods’, the profits are donated to public interest organizations such as Community Chest of Korea.

○ In this campaign, K-SURE purchased winter supplies for children in Theresa’s House and Raphayel’s House, increasing the revenue of small and medium-sized businesses and raising donations.

■ On the same day, the employees of K-SURE participated in the KOSAFE ‘Thumbs Up Challenge’ with the nuns at Theresa’s house, a chance to send a cheerful message to consumers, businesses, and citizens who are experiencing difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

○ KOSAFE ‘Thumbs Up Challenge’ is a social campaign with citizen participation designed in the hope for recovery of domestic economy. The challenge goes this way. The participants take a picture with a thumbs up pose and sharing it on social media with a cheering phrase.

■ Mr. Inho Lee, Chairman and President of K-SURE, said, “I hope that the activity we did through KOSAFE campaign can cheer up our neighbors and small and medium-sized business people.”
